Julie Floersch launched her jewelry line, Kwilti, by default and demand.   Known for her artistic quilts and quickly garnering attention around her unique quilting designs, Floersch, who would make her Egyptian necklaces for friends and for her personal use, found herself being asked by strangers where they could find her jewelry. In spring 2009, she decided to officially launch her collection consisting of pyramid earrings, Egyptian necklaces, hand- weathered breastplates and geometric bracelets.

Taking the trend of recycled fabrics and making a point to be socially and environmentally conscious, Floersch created a modern day accessory that plays on the idea of fabrics, which are often used for ready-to-wear pieces, being appropriated as fashionable accessories and wearable art.

Kwilti is currently sold at Kill Devil Hill and Jan & Aya.
